Ahra Oh, D.M.A.

Pianist Ahra Oh was born in Seoul, South Korea, and started playing piano at age 5. Ms. Oh received a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance at Sookmyung Women’s University where she studied with pianist Jungae Sohn. Following that, she moved to the United States to continue her musical education in 2009. Dr. Oh attained a Master’s degree and Graduate Performance Diploma at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Alexander Shtarkman. After that, she moved to Boston and received a doctorate degree from Boston University under the tutelage of Gila Goldstein.

Ahra Oh has performed many notable solo recitals and chamber concerts throughout the United states and Korea. Dr. Oh has performed as a soloist with orchestras, including Satu Mare State Philharmonic Orchestra and Hungarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra. She also performed in Boston University’s Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Oh has also received awards from participating in numerous piano competitions, including The Golden Key International Piano Competition, AFAF International Piano Competition, American Protege International Competition, and The Junior Korea Times Music Competition. Ahra Oh was invited to participate in the MusicA Braine l’Alleud in 2017 and Orford Music Academy in 2019.

Ahra Oh has been teaching students privately as young as four years old to adult students for over 10 years.
